Hi, I'm Judy – the "JU" in The JU

Before The JU, I spent years working as a lingerie designer. It's a job where every detail matters: delicate lace, fine trims, soft fabrics and seams that have to be just right. When I became a mum, I stepped away from the studio to work as a freelance designer, and started making things by hand at home. That's how The JU began.

Designed and handmade in the UK

Everything you see here is designed and made by me, in my home studio in the UK. Each scrunchie, pouch and book sleeve is cut, sewn and finished by hand in small batches, so no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

Fabrics collected from around the world

Fabric is where every design starts. I'm always on the lookout for special prints, and whenever I travel, I can't resist hunting down little fabric shops. My collection includes finds from Hong Kong, Japan and Korea, alongside fabrics from the UK and Europe.

I only choose fabrics I truly love: good quality that feels lovely to touch and lasts, and prints that make me smile, whether that's a classic gingham, a tiny floral or a sweet cherry print.

Made with care, made to be loved

My lingerie background shows in the details: neat finishing, soft lace trims, and pieces that are comfortable to use every day. I hope that when you open your parcel, you can feel the care that went into it.
